Another woman wearing an alb and a stole-like liturgical scarf delivered a dialogue homily with Auxiliary Bishop Wolfgang Bischof and stood near the altar during the Eucharist. Red balloons were also used during the celebration.

The United American Muslim Association (UAMA) purchased the building for $5.2 million. The 6,500-square-metre centre, founded in 1926 by the Montfort Missionaries, was used to train priests before later serving as a retreat house.
