Leo XIV’s Way of the Cross: Reflections on Social Injustice - Migration, Economy, and Politics

Franciscan Father Francesco Patton wrote the meditations for tonight's Stations of the Cross at the Colosseum in Rome with Pope Leo XIV. Fr Patton served as Custos of the Holy Land from 2016 to 2025.
On April 1, he told VaticanNews.va that the inspiration comes from "current reality" and that the meditations are meant to inspire political "change".
The Vatican press office published the text today. Traditionally a penitential and contemplative devotion, the Via Crucis is repurposed here as a vehicle for contemporary socio-political reflection.
The text shifts from the Passion of Christ to war, refugees, human trafficking, surveillance, deportation, the media, the economy, prisons, hostages, and crackdowns on protests. Notably absent, however, are abortion, euthanasia, and gender ideology.
One acclamation reads: "For migrants, the displaced, and refugees: Comfort us, O Mother."
In the first station, the meditation talks about political and economic power "to start or end a war… the power …Më shumë

Holy Saturday, and Every Saturday, Our Lady’s Day | The Fatima Center

This Holy Saturday is also the First Saturday of the month.
We are reminded today of the first Holy Saturday, when the Kingdom of God on earth – God’s one true “ecclesia” – consisted of only one person, in whom alone the true Faith still abided: the Blessed Virgin Mary! The Jewish nation, having rejected the Messiah, had cut itself off from the communion of the faithful; likewise did Our Lord’s disciples and followers lose their faith in Him, although their natural love for Him remained intact. In Mary alone was found both faith and charity; in Mary alone did the Church on earth exist, on this most desolate of days.
There are long-standing traditions of “accompanying” Our Lady through Her terrible agony on Holy Saturday. Today is an ideal day to meditate upon our Blessed Mother keeping vigil, perhaps even at Her Son’s tomb. We can envision Her dressed all in black. How clearly we can see those seven swords which pierced Her Immaculate Heart. Appropriate prayers can be found in the …

«L’Église a abimé la liturgie de la messe. Elle est trop bruyante ! C’est comme si on se célébrait nous-même. C’est devenu un moment convivial, alors que nous sommes là pour adorer Dieu, il faut une liturgie qui adore Dieu. On ne parle plus du salut et de l’âme !», se désole le cardinal Robert Sarah dans Le Club Le Figaro

Pope Leo leads Way of the Cross at the Colosseum| Shalom World News
In a powerful and deeply symbolic gesture, Pope Leo added to this year’s Good Friday observance a living testimony of his own faith. At Rome’s Colosseum, he did more than preside— the 70-year-old pontiff carried the Cross himself through every station of the Via Crucis, marking a rare and historic departure from recent papal practice. This marks the first time in decades that a pope carried the cross to every station. His predecessors, Benedict XVI and John Paul II, bore the Cross only briefly, while Francis, in later years, watched from a distance due to frailty. As thousands gathered beneath the dark Roman sky, candlelight flickered against ancient stone, illuminating a scene both solemn and stirring. With each step, the Pope’s quiet endurance echoed the Passion itself—each movement heavy with prayer, each pause steeped in meaning. In that sacred silence, the act became more than remembrance. It became an encounter …Më shumë

The East is calling on Putin for help. Not trump!

First remember, it was trump who called Putin 3 weeks ago for help out of the mess he made. Yet didn't listen to him. Now they are turning to Putin to help end this madness that trump and bibi made.
Unfortunately, not even Putin can stop this. That is not what GOD wants. That is not His Will for peace. Not our time.

As the U.S.-Israel military campaign against Iran intensifies into a full regional crisis, Gulf and Arab capitals have abandoned Washington as their diplomatic anchor and are converging on Moscow — with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, and leaders from the UAE, Oman, and Turkey all reaching directly to Vladimir Putin in an unprecedented geopolitical realignment. Putin, positioning Russia as the region's sole credible stabilizer, has formally opened what the Kremlin is calling a coordinated mediation track — with spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirming Russia stands ready to make its "strongest contribution" to …Më shumë

“An Inconvenient Study” – A film that leaves no stone unturned…Kla.TV has dubbed this weighty documentary with enormous explosive power in German. Back in 2016, the Henry Ford Health System in Michigan conducted what is probably the most comprehensive vaccinated-to-unvaccinated comparative study on over 18,000 children, nearly 2,000 of whom were completely unvaccinated. And then? Nothing happened for eight years. Complete break in contact with the study’s sponsor. This film shows how, after all these years, the study was finally published and what its revolutionary findings are. Source.
The rapid pace of global events draws our attention to the current developments in the Gulf War, while causing us to forget the unpunished crimes of past wars. The tragedy of a world war waged with biological weapons—known as COVID-19—serves, despite millions of victims, merely as a backdrop for further acts of genocide. How does the bombing of Tehran or …

On Holy Thursday, Leo XIV washed and kissed the feet of 12 priests in the Lateran Basilica. In his homily, he remembered his predecessor: "As Pope Francis once remarked: 'This is a duty that comes from the heart. I love it. I love it and I love doing it, because that is what the Lord has taught me to do.' He was not speaking of an abstract imperative or a formal, empty command, but rather expressing his heartfelt obedience to the charity of Christ, the source and model of our own charity."

I am glad Pope Leo XIV has carried out the washing of the feet in a traditional, more dignified and proper way. But, I just don't get this "kissing the feet" thing. The Gospel of St. John tells us Jesus washed the feet of His Apostles, it says nothing about kissing them. I have seen this kissing before and I find it cringey! It comes across - to me - as one-upping Our Lord Jesus, a kind of false humility (like the Francis) or virtue-signaling! Personally, I have never kissed feet during the washing of the feet. In the past it was done (or had the possibility of been done) at a separate ceremony. Now days in many places the whole thing is abused and a bit of a circus. The only feet I'd kiss are the crucified feet of our Lord Jesus Christ. Laudetur Iesus Christus!

Our Lady and the Resurrection

Our Lady narrates.
“Now listen to Me, dear child: you must know that after the death of my Son I withdrew in the cenacle, together with beloved John and Magdalene. But my Heart was pierced because only John was near Me, and in my sorrow I said: "And the other Apostles - where are they?" But as they heard that Jesus had died, touched by special graces, all moved and weeping, one by one, the fugitives drew around Me, surrounding Me like a crown; and with tears and sighs, they asked for my forgiveness for they had so cravenly abandoned their Master, and had run away from Him. I welcomed them maternally in the ark of refuge and salvation of my Heart; I assured all of them of the forgiveness of my Son, and I encouraged them not to fear. I said to them that their destiny was in my hands, because He had given them all to Me as my children, and I recognized them as such.
Blessed child, you know that I was present at the Resurrection of my Son. But I did not say a word to anyone, waiting for …Më shumë

McGovern thinks that Putin is trying to talk sense into trump. With Putin giving him the real cold Turkey saying, we can't let this go on so that Israel is destroyed and has no other option than to use nukes.
It's always President Putin who tries to restore and make peace. This is why Russia is so Blessed. And why some hate the fact Putin was not involved in the epstein files as they had hoped. I lost count this year alone on how many times President Putin and Russia was rewarded for helping out others. No matter how much some try to make us hate Russia or Putin, the facts always speak louder than words. And they just can't handle that.

Synodality in Action: During the Holy Thursday liturgy, Bishop Michael Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina, delegated the foot-washing ritual to lay men and women. The Eucharist was at the Jesuits' church. Bishop Martin participated in the ritual himself, but he also allowed members of the laity to perform much of the optional Mandatum.

Brian Williams on Twitter: Meanwhile in Charlotte, Bishop Martin delegated the washing of feet on Holy Thursday to lay men and women. +Martin did participate to some degree, but at this Jesuit parish where he chose to celebrate Holy Thursday, the laity assumed the role of the clergy for much of the (optional) mandatum.

Trump’s Executive Order: DHS to Build State Citizenship Lists and Secure Mail-In Ballots – The Real Reason for Democrat Resistance to Election Integrity

I had Grok break down Trump’s EO, and there were some interesting points:
1) This EO includes the involvement of DHS creating state citizenship lists for every state. DHS’s role in election security is expanding.
2) Mail-in ballots are being reformed, with “unique intelligent mail barcodes”, and these ballots can only be mailed to citizens on the state citizenship lists created by DHS and SSA.
3) The order also directs the AG to prioritize investigations and prosecutions of election-related crimes, particularly related to distributing/collecting illegal ballots to/from non-citizens.
In conclusion, Trump is using DHS to secure elections via managing the voter rolls and preventing mail-in ballot fraud, while the DOJ has been instructed to prosecute any attempts to cheat.
This is what the Dems have been worried about the entire time. This is why they have been refusing to fund DHS and throwing a fit about ICE. It was always about election security. BioClandestine

I found this one of the clearest summaries of what took place concerning election integrity. It’s not an option, not a choice but rather a decision to save the republic and by extension other peoples.
It is my opinion that the Church is directly impacted as well.

Examine Your Heart: Where Do You Resist?
The suffering of the Lord and the martyrs challenge the notion that God would never allow suffering. We must conform ourselves to God’s will, even when it contradicts our own desires, as exemplified by Jesus’ prayer in the garden. By examining our own betrayals and rebellions against God’s teachings, we can find grace and strength to embrace our crosses and follow Him.
